Selfcare Sunday 10/20/19

Selfcare Sunday finds:

I was sent an organic frankincense aromatherapy essential oil from the brand Prime Natural. It can be bought at Amazon and it's really affordable when it comes to essential oils. It's available at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR9TQEU for $9.99 for the 10 ml bottle, $19.99 for the 30 ml bottle, and $32.99 for the 118 ml bottle.

I had to do a little bit of searching to see what the benefits or uses for frankincense are. It smelled lovely and woodsy when I opened it. I knew I definitely wanted to use it for some self care.

I had been using it during the week for oil diffuser since I love buying oils for my diffuser. The smell really lingered quite a while in the house which was quite nice. It made my house just feel warm and cozy. I put it in the living room and had my best "this is fall" week.

After seeing some articles on it's benefits I decided I would make some bath bombs for my selfcare sunday and really put the frankincense to work. I used a generic bath bomb recipe I found online for bath bombs; epsom salt, cornstarch, baking soda, citric acid, coconut oil, some soap colorants andddd 1/4 tbsp of my frankincense aromatherapy essential oil that Prime Natural sent me to try out.

Most of the articles I read online claimed that frankincense aids in relaxation and calming the body and mind. Which is why I decided to highlight it in this weeks selfcare sunday post. Many also said it helps topically for the skin for various things including anti-aging, scars and acne. I didn't try it topically though. I used it for my oil diffuser and bath bombs. I also read that it helps reduce stress, anxiety and lessen depression. I suffer from depression and anxiety so I will definitely continue to use my frankincense even when its not selfcare sunday. But as a part of self care as a whole and making it more of a priority in my daily schedule.

Since I don't have time for baths everyday of the week, I will be also making some shower steamers soon to use when I shower. I will definitely continue to use the frankincense aromatherapy oil in my oil diffuser.

I inserted some pics of my bath bombs I made with my frankincense oil since they were so much fun to make! I can't wait to make some more things with this essential oil! Did i mention its organic?! yes USDA certified organic!
